We are delighted to announce that Mad Cat Brewery had recently won an award for one of this year’s green hop beers. The award winning beer is Green and Gold. It was awarded 3rd place at the Spa Valley Beer Festival.
The Spa Valley beer festival is organised and run by West Kent CAMRA. Now in it’s 11th year, it has grown to one of the largest beer festivals in Kent. Beers and and ciders are voted for by both CAMRA’s members and volunteers, along with the beer festival’s attendees.
Across Kent, 27 green hop beers were produced this year, all were tasted and judged in the Seasonal Green Hop Beer category. So we are over the moon to have scooped third place against some exceptional beers.
Green and Gold is a golden ale. with an ABV of 4.1%. It is made using East Kent Goldings green hops and was one of the first beer produced by our new Australian brewer, Cameron Smith.
