With over 130 hop varieties available in the UK, and maltsters falling over themselves to be innovative in their treatment of barley and other grains, micro-breweries are seeing a resurgence.
All this makes brewing truly an art form, and with the muse upon us, we thought we would get creative and start producing quality craft ales for ourselves. So in 2012 we – father and son team Peter and Michael Meaney – set up a micro-brewery at Brogdale Farm in Faversham in Kent. Our brewery is perfectly placed for supplying pubs all over north and east Kent, ensuring people far and wide can enjoy our beers, plus it’s right on our doorstep, which is handy.
We’re hoping our beers will be enjoyed by people who have already discovered the delights of crafted beer and we want to cheer-on those new ale drinkers who want to join in with the ale revolution going on in the UK looking for something fresh and modern to drink.
If what you’re looking for is “rock-bottom-cheap” and cold enough to freeze your tonsils, this may be the wrong place for you. But if you want taste and flavour and a genuinely delicious experience, then welcome to Mad Cat Brewery and the craft beer revolution.
