Please extend a massive Mad Cat welcome to our new member of staff – Cameron Smith. Cameron has travelled the world ending up in Faversham. Now using his experience and scientific background, he is helping us brew our fabulous beers.
Cameron has an MSc in Water Management, and an extensive background working abroad in Africa and Asia in development and emergency contexts. His most recent posting was to Nepal, where he developed a keen interest in brewing beer at home. However due to being evacuated in the pandemic, he has moved to the Faversham area with his wife and young family.
Cameron says: “When I saw the Brewery Operative job advertised at Mad Cat Brewery, I was instantly excited to join the team. I like the brand, I like the product and I wanted to extend my brewing knowledge and skills. I have found the brewing side of the business fascinating. A lot of science is involved in turning the raw ingredients into the tipple so widely enjoyed. This is especially in the water treatment to optimise the profile and characteristic of the beer, using naturally hard water as found in Kent. I’m looking forward to helping Mad Cat reach its full potential, with some laughs and experimenting to find the perfect pint along the way.”
